Who we are and what we're doing.
Living Space is a registered charity dedicated to ending homelessness in Timmins by providing services, shelter, project coordination, and planning. The organization was created by passionate community partners who came together in 2017, responding to immediate community needs.
Living Space is both a strategic partnership and a physical space. The aim of the partnership is to end chronic homelessness in Timmins by 2025 through the realignment and coordination of services. These services are made available to the community through the physical location of Living Space.
Limited overnight services launched in January 2018, and in May 2019, Living Space opened its doors as the first 24/7/365 emergency shelter in Timmins. Focused on creating accessible services, Living Space aims to meet clients where they’re at and connects them with the most appropriate housing, as quickly as possible.

We believe that the best path to accomplishing our vision is through partnership with public and private organizations and members of our community.
We believe that relationships with partners and guests need to be open, trusting, and frank.
We respect diversity and work with various stakeholders to build meaningful partnerships. We encourage the participation of historically marginalized groups in the development and operation of Living Space.
The Living Space brand is centered on its logo, which features an icon we call the gap, a simple holding shape referencing the social chasm that must be bridged while solving homelessness. In the past, it has been used as a symbol indicating to others that you are safe here. Living Space is just that — a safe space for people to turn to.
